Compliant pharma content system

Access and formulary coverage content for a global pharma brand, designed as one modular system for rep-led iPad presentations, approved emails and print-on-demand.

My role
UI design and frontend development: content audit, a modular template system, populated and un-populated layouts, popup and scroll states, and MLR-ready submissions.

01

Context

Sales reps use iPad presentations and approved emails to show clinicians which health plans cover a therapy. Brand teams built these assets from scratch for every campaign, with no shared patterns.

02

Challenge

Make dense, regulated coverage information scannable for a busy clinician — across iPad, email and print — while every claim, footnote and safety statement stays compliant.

03

My role

UI design and frontend development: audited existing assets for reusable patterns, designed a modular template system with populated and un-populated layouts, specified popups, scrolling safety information and footnotes, and managed QA and MLR submissions with regulatory and brand stakeholders.

04

Key decisions

  1. 01

    Decision

    Templates, not one-offs.

    Why it mattered

A shared set of layouts — main display, comparison, coverage criteria, footnotes — means every new campaign starts from a compliant base.

  2. 02

    Decision

Safety information is part of the layout.

    Why it mattered

Important safety information and footnotes have reserved, scrollable regions, so compliance never fights the main message.

  3. 03

    Decision

    Detail on demand.

    Why it mattered

Coverage criteria and plan details open in popups, keeping the main table readable inside a short rep-led conversation.

Feature · Access & coverage layouts

One coverage model, three channels.

The same content model renders as an iPad presentation, a mobile approved email and a print layout — with placeholders marking every regulated field.

05

Constraints & trade-offs

  • Brand expression

    Compliance

    Trade-off

Brand colour and type inside fixed, pre-approved regions for claims, footnotes and safety information.

  • Information density

    Rep-led pace

    Trade-off

Headline message first; criteria and footnotes one tap away.

06

Collaboration & implementation

  1. Audit
  2. Templates
  3. MLR

I worked with brand, medical, legal and regulatory reviewers through MLR submission rounds, and built the assets myself — checked pixel by pixel across iPads and email clients.

07

Outcome

Verified outcomes only

Per-campaign builds replaced by reusable, pre-compliant templates — more consistent across product lines and simpler to take through MLR review.

08

Reflection

In regulated content, the system is what frees the message. Fixed regions let teams spend their time on what the clinician needs to hear.
